Holger Rohn

Tenor saxophonist

Holger Rohn completed his music studies at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, specialising in tenor saxophone. In over three decades as a saxophonist, he has enriched many projects and formations with his clearly defined sound, melodic line and special drive. Rohn knows no genre boundaries. He approaches challenges with curiosity and openness. He has performed in orchestras, gained experience in bands ranging from blues to rock, and regularly proves that the church organ and saxophone make an excellent combination. Marla Glen has already placed her trust in his musicianship, and as a member of the Afro-Cuban City Big Band, this versatile artist also captivated audiences. Holger Rohn is a permanent member of the Kilian Heitzler Big Band, performs with the Ingmar Winkler Quartet and Simon Holliday & Band, and presents his own compositions with his own quartet. When he’s not on stage, the dedicated jazz musician teaches at the University of Arts, Design and Music in Freiburg.
