Heiko Gottberg was born in Rastatt in 1978. Heiko Gottberg began his guitar training in 1991 in his hometown. Jürgen Lammer and Harold Holl taught him the styles of rock, blues and jazz until 1999. He then went on to study at the International Music College Freiburg, and since 2005 he has been a state-certified music teacher and professional musician in the jazz and popular music field. As a lecturer at the Rastatt Adult Education Centre and an instructor at the Municipal Music School Achern-Oberkirch, he continues to share his knowledge. Gottberg is also active as a studio and live musician in various projects in Germany, France, and Switzerland. His playing style and his preference for synth guitars are strongly reminiscent of Pat Metheny. It is therefore no coincidence that he and other fans of the guitarist founded the Metheny Tribute Group. Anyone who hears Gottberg’s sound will instantly fall in love with it. Watching and experiencing him during his improvisations opens not only the mind but also the heart. Heiko Gottberg’s compositions are similarly soothing. The light and melodically pleasing piece “Try” is part of Latin-Jazz Sinfónica!
