Wim de Vries (b. 1970) studied at the Artez Conservatorium in Arnhem (Netherlands) and at the Berklee School of Music (USA). Since then, he has received numerous awards, including being voted Best Drummer of the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) twice by the Dutch magazine Slagwerkkrant. The hallmarks of his drumming style are exceptional virtuosity, flawless technical control, and high musicality, qualities that distinguish him both as an accompanist and a soloist. For 20 years, he formed one half of the acclaimed drum duo The Drumbassadors, which took him on tours throughout Europe, Canada, Australia, the USA, and Russia. In the Netherlands, he is a sought-after drummer for theatre and musical productions. His versatility is reflected in his work with a wide variety of ensembles: Jazz, with the O.H.T. (Occupational Hazard Trio) the Marcus Schinkel Trio, and progressive rock with the band Voyager IV, which was named Best Rock Band in Germany at the German Rock and Pop Awards 2020. In addition, he accompanies the Modern Dance class at the Dance Academy of Holland and gives drum clinics worldwide.
